The goal of this unique program is to empower small business owners throughout the United States. The program works with small business owners who run high-growth companies with significant potential for job creation by teaming them with UBS financial advisors and successful entrepreneurs. Ken is using the information obtained through this program to continue growing The Shred Authority and provide additional jobs.
Sponsored by Goldman Sachs, the 10,000 Small Businesses at the City Colleges of Chicago is a practical business management education program that helps small business owners develop the skills they need to grow their companies. Ken Williams is a graduate of this competitive program where participants receive one-on-one business advising from dedicated professionals to help them develop a tailored plan for growth.
Ken Williams received this award in 2010. It recognizes Kellogg alumni who are currently building successful high growth entrepreneurial ventures and who maintain an active and supportive relationship with the Kellogg School of Management.
As a member of the BBB Board of Directors, Ken Williams helps guide the activities of the Better Business Bureau that covers the northern Illinois region. This private, non-profit organization promotes an ethical marketplace. BBBs help resolve buyer/seller complaints by means of conciliation, mediation and arbitration. BBBs also review advertising claims, online business practices and charitable organizations. BBBs encourage people to check out a company or charity before making a purchase or donation. The concern for ethics in the marketplace, shown by the BBB, is supported by The Shred Authority's on-going training in business ethics and customer services for its employees.
